Client Illness and Communicable Disease Policy

Massage therapy involves close physical contact. For the health and safety of all clients and providers, sessions will not proceed if you are experiencing any signs or symptoms of communicable illness.

Please reschedule your appointment if you:

  • have a fever
  • have a cough, sore throat, or nasal congestion not related to allergies
  • have tested positive for COVID-19, influenza, or any other communicable illness in the past 10 days
  • have recently been exposed to someone currently ill with a contagious condition

If a session is started and symptoms are present, the therapist reserves the right to discontinue the session and apply a cancellation fee.

Clinical hygiene protocols are followed before and after every session, including proper handwashing, surface disinfection, and clean linen replacement.

Under Florida Administrative Code 64D-3, licensed professionals are required to report certain infectious diseases to the Florida Department of Health. While massage therapists do not diagnose, any disclosures or observations that meet the reporting criteria must be documented and reported as required by law.

If the therapist is unwell, the appointment will be rescheduled.

This policy protects the health of clients, providers, and the broader community.
