Continue Gentle Hydration After Your MLD Session

After an MLD session, your lymphatic system is actively moving waste and fluid through your body. Gentle hydration helps this process continue without overwhelming your system. For clients with MS, slow and steady water intake supports regulation, reduces the chance of overstimulation, and eases post-session fatigue.

Florida Bodywork Authorized Therapists recommend sipping water gradually rather than gulping large amounts all at once. Your body has already undergone a shift during the session. The goal now is to support that shift with calm, consistent nourishment. Think of it as flushing the system without turning on a firehose.

You can add a pinch of mineral-rich salt or a splash of coconut water if you’ve been sweating or feeling depleted. Herbal teas or cucumber-infused water can also be soothing and hydrating. The key is staying gently hydrated to keep the lymph flowing and to help your body finish what the session started.
