Hydration is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to support your lymphatic system, especially when living with MS. The lymphatic system relies on fluid movement to do its job, and without adequate water, that movement becomes sluggish. When you arrive hydrated, your body is better prepared to respond to the gentle pressure and rhythmic flow of Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
Start sipping water consistently the day before and the day of your session. This doesn’t mean chugging large amounts all at once. Instead, aim for small, frequent sips throughout the day. This approach keeps the body balanced, helps regulate body temperature, and supports the circulatory and lymphatic systems in tandem.
If drinking water is difficult for you due to fatigue, sensory issues, or digestion, try infusing your water with cucumber or lemon or consuming hydrating foods like melon or broth. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s consistency. Showing up well-hydrated sets the tone for your session and gives your body the internal resources it needs to respond and recover with greater ease.
